Where Cortexial came from
Cortexial was founded in 2021 by a group of engineers and business analysts who had spent years inside large Malaysian enterprises — watching AI projects get commissioned, poorly scoped, and then quietly shelved. The pattern was consistent: vendors would deliver impressive demonstrations, leave behind systems that nobody could maintain, and move on.
We believed the problem wasn't the technology. It was the approach. Organisations needed consultants who would spend time understanding their processes first, configure systems to match real operational conditions, and ensure internal teams could take ownership before the engagement closed.
That idea became Cortexial. We deliberately kept our service areas narrow — document intelligence, conversational AI, and predictive analytics — so we could do each one thoroughly rather than offer a broad catalogue of half-measures.

How we maintain quality
Data Handling Agreements
Before any project data is accessed, we establish a written data handling protocol aligned with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Client data is never retained beyond the agreed engagement period.
Documented Deliverables
Every engagement produces written documentation of methods, model assumptions, validation results, and operational instructions. Deliverables are reviewed by a senior consultant before handover.
Ethical AI Principles
We follow published frameworks for responsible AI use, including bias assessment and fairness considerations for all classification and prediction models. We don't deploy systems without client-approved validation benchmarks.
Integration Standards
Systems we build use documented APIs and standard integration patterns. We avoid proprietary architectures that would create vendor dependency beyond the engagement period.
Accuracy Benchmarking
All models and extraction systems are benchmarked against agreed accuracy thresholds before deployment. If benchmarks aren't met, we iterate — the engagement doesn't close until agreed performance levels are reached.
Operator Training
Each engagement includes structured training for the internal teams who will operate the delivered systems. Training sessions are documented and session recordings are provided where clients permit.
